The Ionization Chambers are used as sensor elements for automatic X-ray exposure control units
The Ionization Chambers are used as sensor elements for automatic X-ray exposure control units. They comprise air-filled parallel chambers with 1, 3 or 5 measuring fields, coupled with an amplifier and a field selector. The low overall thickness of 6 mm ensures the chamber may be used with all modern X-ray equipment.
Principle of Operation
The transparent ionization chambers fit easily into the accessory rails at the collimator. Adapted circular ionization chambers are used for complete integration into C-arm machines. All devices are equipped with a serial interface for transfer data files to a printer or a PC. Different printer, adapter and PC software is available as an accessory.
The dose area product measuring chamber contains the complete measurement electronics and has a serial RS485 interface. The measuring chamber can be controlled and operated through an ASCII protocol. The measuring results are shown on the control panel of the X-ray generator or a separate display unit. An RS485 – RS232 converter is available to connect the chamber to any host computer.
